Things for crew to do in Mallorca
If you are new to the incredible island of Mallorca, or are in port for only a few days, you might be wondering what the best activities are on the island.
We recently created a crew activity map, which is featured below. This includes some of the top spots to visit as well as a few of the key services you might need during your stay.
Activities
Playing 5-a-side Football – Brisasport Ses Fontanellas (Can Pastilla)
If you are looking for a kick about in Palma then Brisasport, near Palma aquarium, is a great place to start. You can find your way here.
Yoga Classes – Earth Yoga Santa Catalina (Santa Catalina, Palma)
There are a number of great places to practice yoga on the island but one of our favourites is Earth Yoga. There are normally at least 3 classes a day, and they offer Vinyasa, Flow, Yang and Ying as well as specific Mindfullness sessions. They have international as well as local teachers so you are bound to find someone to suit your needs.
You can find the class calendar here.
Wine Tasting – Macia Batle (Santa Maria)
A great day out on the island is wine tasking in Santa Maria. We can speak from experience and highly recommend visiting if you have enough time. We aren’t the only ones who think this is a great way to spend the day, there are excellent reviews on Trip Adviser also. A visit and tasting session will cost €15 per person for adults.
Surfing Beaches – Son Serra de Marina (Son Serra de Marina)
If you are keen to take advantage of being on the island, some of the best surfing beaches are at Son Serra de Marina. You can easily hire equipment if needed. It can become busy in peak season because of its popularity so aim for the start of the day if you want uncrowded waters.
You can find the surf forecast here.
Hike and typical Mallorcan lunch – Es Verger “The Lamb Restaurant” (Alaro)
Es Verger is a well know restaurant in Mallorca and often referred to as ‘the lamb restaurant. You will find it halfway up the Puig de Alaró mountain, making the meal even more rewarding! The walk-up should take you about 90 minutes.
Apparently, Rick Stein said it was the best lamb he ever tasted, but this was in 2012, so he may have found something better since.
You can read more about it on Trip Adviser.
Sunset views and drinks – Mirador Sa Foradada (Sa Foradada)
One of the best sunsets the island has to offer is at Mirador Sa Foradada. You can see what to expect below:
Watching Premier League Football – Hogans, Santa Catalina (Santa Catalina, Palma)
If watching, rather than playing at Brisasport, is more you thing we recommend heading down to Hogans. Not only do they have both indoor and outdoor screens, they also have some pretty decent burgers which come in at around 9€. Their website, which has an up to date menu, is here.
Services
English Speaking Doctor – Club de Mar Medical (Club de Mar, Palma)
Most crew are on the the look out for an English speaking doctor. A number of the team here have used Club de Mar Medical. Normally they are open from 7.45 am until 4 pm, but they can close earlier if they are quiet. We recommend getting in touch with them prior to visiting. They tend to operate different opening hours during the busy tourist season (July and August). Their Facebook page is normally updated with any changes.
